Is there a fee charged for the online gifts?

There is no charge to nonprofits to be listed on, to participate in North Texas Giving Day, to attend the many strategic training session, receive mentoring or to use the best practices and toolkits. However, like all online fundraising, there are per transaction costs charged on each donation which are passed through to each nonprofit as detailed below.

The 5.03% fee breaks down as follows:

2.04%: Charged by credit/debit card companies.

2.99%: Charged by Kimbia to help cover the cost of maintaining and enhancing the fundraising platform (

Please note: Communities Foundation of Texas does not profit from North Texas Giving Day - CFT invests $1.2 million a year to present North Texas Giving Day, and additionally, raises more than $1 million in bonus and prize funds to make sure your donation goes further.

You can cover the fee for your favorite cause

During the donation process, you will be asked if you would like to cover this fee for your chosen nonprofit(s). If you select yes, 5.03% will be added to your total. Your entire contribution amount is tax deductible, including the processing fee!

If you do not choose to cover the fee, the 5.03% processing fee will be deducted from your donation before it is disbursed to your favorite cause, as is standard across most major fundraising platforms.

Why should I cover the fee?

North Texas Giving Day isn’t only about raising millions of dollars for nonprofits; we also want to promote healthy giving. By covering the fee, 100% of your donation will go directly to the nonprofit(s) you support! And, covering the fee lets donors partner with their favorite nonprofit(s) to help cover some of the cost of doing business.

North Texas is a national leader in philanthropy and generosity, and we invite you to continue to lead by example in our charitable giving and nonprofit support. By supporting your favorite nonprofits and covering the fee, you are helping make North Texas a stronger and more vibrant community.

A community that gives together grows together!
